01 — What it treats
Where filler
actually helps
Filler replaces support that has been lost, in the places that hold the face up. Which areas get treated, and how little goes into each one, is the whole difference between a face that looks rested and a face that looks filled.
Cheeks
The support that flattens first. Treated to lift the midface and give the skin something to sit on — not to widen it.
Chin
Projection and balance, mostly read in profile. Often the quiet reason a jawline looks undefined when the jaw itself is fine.
Jawline
Definition along the border of the jaw, and a cleaner line between face and neck. Usually planned together with the chin.
Temples
Hollowing at the temples narrows the upper face and reads as tired. A small volume here changes the whole outline.
Under-eye hollows
The tear trough. The most technique-dependent area in the face, and the one most often better served by treating the cheek first.
Not right for everyoneHow much product an area takes depends on how much support has been lost, the tissue over it and how the face moves — which is why the consultation comes first. You leave it with the areas, the amount and the total price written down, and no obligation to book treatment the same day.
02 — The products
Three families,
not one
Juvederm, Restylane and RHA are all hyaluronic acid — a sugar your skin already makes. Each family runs from firm gels that hold structure to soft ones that sit close to the surface, and the choice of product is part of the plan rather than a house default.
| Family | Onset | Typical duration | Often chosen for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Juvederm | Immediate | 9–18 months | The widest range, from firm structural gels for cheeks, chin and jawline to soft ones for finer work. |
| Restylane | Immediate | 9–18 months | Holds a defined shape well, which suits the chin and jawline. The lighter members of the range are the usual choice around the eyes. |
| RHA | Immediate | 9–18 months | Made to stretch and recover with the face rather than resist it, so it is often chosen for areas that move a lot. |
Onset and duration above are general ranges, not a promise about your result. The product, the area, how much is placed and your own metabolism all move these numbers. Hyaluronic acid filler is also dissolvable, which the three families above have in common and the next section does not.
Different category, different job. Sculptra does not add volume on the day; it prompts your own collagen to build over a series of sessions, so the change is gradual and can last up to two years. It is also not hyaluronic acid, which means it cannot be dissolved the way the fillers above can. Some faces are better served by it than by filler, and that is a consultation conversation, not a menu choice.

05 — How it goes
Three steps,
no pressure
Nothing gets injected on a first visit unless you have a written plan in front of you and you are happy with it.
Consultation
A short call to hear what is bothering you, review your medical history and talk through whether filler is even the right tool — plenty of faces are better served by something else. You get the areas, the amount and the price in writing. No payment, no commitment.
Treatment
The appointment runs about 45 minutes. The areas are numbed with topical anaesthetic and most products carry lidocaine of their own. You see the change the same day, sitting under some swelling, and go back to your day — no bandages and no recovery.
Two-week review
Swelling has gone and the product has settled by about fourteen days, which is the only honest point to judge it. If an area wants a little more, that gets added then — which is exactly why the first appointment is kept conservative.
